Uploadcare alternative: how we replaced it with Cloudflare Images

Summary

We moved the image database behind Socialwiz and Stocklibrary.ai off a $79/month Uploadcare bill onto Cloudflare Images, costing $5/month — same image storage, a fraction of the bill.

Problem

Both Socialwiz and Stocklibrary.ai stored and served their images through Uploadcare, at $79 a month. That was a growing, recurring cost for storage that could be moved somewhere cheaper without changing what either product does.

Solution

We chose to migrate the image database off Uploadcare onto Cloudflare Images, replacing the $79/month bill with a $5/month one.

How

The full image database used by Socialwiz and Stocklibrary.ai was migrated onto Cloudflare Images, with both products repointed to the new storage.

Result

Image storage for both products kept working exactly as before, on a $5/month bill instead of $79/month — a $74/month saving.
